Definition
Other deposits are deposits other than transferable deposits; they cannot be used to make payments except at maturity or after an agreed notice period, and they are not exchangeable for cash or transferable deposits without significant restriction or penalty.

Other deposits fall under category 2.9 of the financial instruments classification, according to the European System of Accounts 2010.
They include the following financial instruments:
- interbank deposits and financing received in securitization operations
- savings deposits (until 2005)
- term accounts
- structured deposits
- temporary transfers of assets from monetary financial institutions
- singular bonds
- accounts abroad
- the counterpart of transferred assets and positions with the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
